Move Dropbox to OneDrive
Copy the files and folders you choose from Dropbox into OneDrive — directly between the two clouds, with nothing downloaded to your device. Your Dropbox stays untouched.
How it works
- Sign in to CloudRaft and connect your Dropbox account on its own login screen.
- Pick the files or folders you want to copy from Dropbox.
- Connect OneDrive as the destination.
- We measure everything first and show you the plan — file count, size, and anything we have to set aside — before a single byte copies.
- Press Start. The copy runs on our servers, so you can close the tab; your Dropbox originals are never touched.
Your originals are never touched
CloudRaft is copy-only. It reads the files you pick from Dropbox and writes copies into OneDrive— it never deletes, moves, renames, or changes anything in your source. We don't store your file contents; they stream between the two clouds through our worker and are never written to our disks.
What to know for this move
- Dropbox Paper docs aren't regular files — export them to Word or PDF from Dropbox first if you want them in OneDrive.
- When you connect OneDrive, Microsoft may show an "unverified publisher" notice — that's a Microsoft account step, not a CloudRaft problem, and it's safe to continue. We only request read access to copy, and write into our own folder.
- OneDrive won't accept certain characters in file names (\ / : * ? " < > |). If a Dropbox file uses one, rename it in Dropbox before copying.
Questions
Do I have to download my files to move them from Dropbox to OneDrive?
No. CloudRaft copies directly between Dropbox and OneDrive on its own servers — nothing is downloaded to your computer and you don't need to keep a device running.
Will CloudRaft delete or change my Dropbox files?
Never. CloudRaft is copy-only: it reads the files you choose and writes copies to OneDrive. It cannot delete, move, or modify anything in Dropbox — that's enforced in code, not just policy.
What does it cost?
You can copy up to 10 GB free, no card. Beyond that you buy a one-time pass — a fixed amount of data for a one-time price, no subscription.
How long does it take?
As fast as both providers allow — we don't throttle. Small files move quickly; very large files take longer. It runs in the background, so you don't have to watch it.
Did everything copy correctly?
We verify every file landed at the destination before counting it done — by size, and by checksum where the provider supports one. The count you see is the verified count, not just attempted.
Is this a good way to switch from Dropbox to Microsoft 365?
Yes. If you're consolidating on Microsoft 365, CloudRaft copies your Dropbox files straight into OneDrive without downloading them, so you can cancel Dropbox once everything's across. It's copy-only — nothing in Dropbox is removed until you remove it yourself.
Does my Dropbox account need to be a paid plan?
No. CloudRaft reads the files you pick from any Dropbox account, free or paid. You just need enough room on the OneDrive side to receive them.
